Class description:
In this course, students will explore the art of coil building to create unique and intricate vessels. This intermediate class is perfect for young artists ready to expand their skills and challenge their creativity.
Students will learn various coil building techniques, focusing on developing their craftsmanship and attention to detail. Each session will guide students through the process of constructing their vessels, from planning and forming to refining and detailing. The final classes will introduce color through the application of underglaze, giving each piece a vibrant and polished finish. By the end of this class, students will have a deeper understanding of ceramic techniques and a one-of-a-kind coil-built vessel.
*Please note ceramics requires two firings of your child’s work: one to bisque fire (or make the clay solid) and two to glaze clear over your child’s painting. Some pieces may take longer to dry and fire, please expect to pick up their final pieces 1-2 weeks after the final class.
Please have your child bring their own water bottle. Art clothes & snacks are welcome.
