Portfolio Development for Aspiring Artists

Description:
This class is designed for students in grades 6-12 whose artistic needs are not being met in a regular classroom setting. It offers time and space to sharpen drawing, painting, and visual thinking skills.
Focus Areas:
- Development of a portfolio that meets the entry requirements for:
- High school arts programs (e.g., NOCCA)
- Fine arts colleges
- Emphasis on working from observation, including:
- Still life
- Figure drawing
Media Covered:
- Pencil
- Charcoal
- Acrylic
- Watercolor
Supplies:
- All necessary art materials will be included.
- Students are encouraged to:
- Supplement with their own sketchbooks and materials.
- Bring any previous work for constructive critique.
