Art for Healing: Touro Hospital Rehabilitation, A Call for Donations

Art has the ability to heal through creation and contemplation. Recently Touro reached out to the Academy to help them build a collection of work for their patients. We hope this opportunity allows for more connection and growth through art and helps those who are interested in our community share their work with others.

The team at Touro Hospital Rehabilitation is currently seeking donated student art pieces to help decorate various spaces throughout their recently reopened rehabilitation unit. The goal is to create an environment that feels warm, welcoming, and restorative for both patients and staff. The rehabilitation unit serves adults recovering from acquired brain injuries, stroke, spinal cord injuries, and limb loss. Imagery inspired by local nature, community life, and music would be particularly meaningful and grounding for the patient population.

We would greatly appreciate any art donations and are happy to coordinate logistics, and artist recognition. Work can be up to approximately 49 inches in width and 41 inches in height.

If you or anyone you know would be interested in contributing please print and fill out the attached labels and bring in your piece(s) to The Academy front office Mon-Fri, 9am-4pm.
