Through study of the structure of the human body, this class will enable students to capture the essence of the human figure and provide the confidence to express themselves within the figurative tradition.
Working in clay from a model, students will develop the skills of seeing and reproducing the human form in all its complexities.
We will focus on close visual observation to help us analyze and sculpt what we see, coupled with anatomical information to understand the visible forms of the body.
Completed figures will be fired and we will finish them with paint techniques or glaze at the end of class.
This class is for all levels with individual attention to each student's project and needs within a supportive class environment.
