Sculpting the Dynamic Torso - Heidi Mortensen

A figure sculpting class focused on the torso in a dynamic pose.

Through study of this central core of the human body, this class will enable students to capture the structure and expressive gesture of the figure.

Working in clay from a live model, students will develop the skills of seeing and reproducing the human form in all its complexities.

We will focus on close visual observation to help us analyze and sculpt what we see, coupled with anatomical information to understand the visible forms of the body.

Completed torso sculptures will be fired and we will finish them with paint techniques or glaze at the end of class.

This class is for all levels with individual attention to each student's project and needs within a supportive class environment.

Included:

• 25 lb bag of clay
• Clay tools will be available for use during class
