Whether you are an abstract painter or prefer the figurative image, you will enjoy the spontaneity of monoprinting. Each unique print builds on the glaze left on the plate from the former printing. You begin each new painting /monoprint with a reference. Therefore the "shadow" of the last image supports the development of the next painting creating a series.
The first day of the session will be devoted to monoprinting with the press. Archival inks that are applied like oil paints will be provided with printing papers. Bring a few of your own oil painting brushes.
The second day will be devoted to finishing the monoprints with watercolors, charcoal, and pastels. Please bring your own favorites. A limited amount of watercolors and pastels will be available.
