In this 3-day workshop, students will learn the technique of how a relief print is made
Students will start with a flat, sturdy piece of linoleum sheet. Students will draw a picture on a block of linoleum, then use small gouging tools to cut away negative spaces. Students will learn to prepare ink to roll an even layer across the raised surface using a roller, or brayer. Then they will transfer the ink from the block onto the paper by hand or with a printing press, revealing a mirrored version of your design.

Supplies:
Canson Edition Papers: 3 sheets of 22x30 inches each
Exacto Knife with several blades
Gouging tools (Kit is fine)
5 x 7 inches linoleum (hard) sheet
Any old brush
Pencils
One ballpoint pen
