In this class, we will explore painting urban landscapes outdoors (en plein air) using oils.

We will focus on capturing natural light, atmosphere, and color by observing scenes directly.

Students will learn the essential techniques of plein air painting, including simplifying complex scenes, managing changing conditions, composition, value studies, and using a limited palette, along with understanding the necessary portable gear to translate a scene into expressive paintings and make the experience enjoyable.
