Exploring Individuality in Art: An Independent Study

Description:
Inspired by Teresita Fernández’s assertion that the raw material for art is rooted in how we live, love, and engage with the world, this course invites students to focus on individuality in their art and deepen their creative practice.

This is not a “how to” class but rather a self-directed independent study. While technical instruction will not be provided, the course encourages exploration of artistic influences, acknowledgment of the myth of originality, and creation of personally meaningful art.

What You’ll Gain:

  • A deeper connection to your personal artistic voice.
  • Opportunities to expand your creative potential and envision new possibilities for growth.

Who Should Join:

  • Beginners are welcome, as it’s never too early to explore artistic influences.
  • Ideal for those with prior experience in drawing and painting, as this is a more conceptual and self-guided exploration.

Prerequisites:
Previous classes in drawing and painting are strongly suggested.

Supplies:
Students should bring the materials they wish to work with.
