This course welcomes writers of all levels who are ready to take on the challenge of creating a 50,000-word rough draft of a novel this semester.

You'll receive structured guidance through each stage of the process—planning, drafting, and early revision—with a focus on building and sustaining creative momentum.

We’ll begin with focused sessions on brainstorming, outlining, character development, and pacing.

In November, the real sprint begins as we dive into the challenge of completing a 50,000-word novel in 30 days.

We will achieve this goal with tools from National Novel Writing Month, such as group writing sprints, check-ins, and pep talks.

December will be dedicated to revision.

Whether you’re starting from scratch or picking up a long-lost idea, this course with its emphasis on creativity, accountability, and community will help you bring your story to life.

No prior creative writing experience is needed.
