Intro to Portrait Painting for All Levels (March-April) - Emre Karaoglu


Participants will explore portrait painting and learn to capture the form and emotion of a portrait or figure with oil.
Participants will learn the oil painting process, starting with a monochromatic sketch and overlaying a limited palette of mixed chromatic colors to achieve a rich, harmonious portrait that is full of life and captures a strong likeness to your subject.
What You’ll Learn
- This class focuses on developing participants' skills in relation to anatomy, colour, tone, constructing a palette, mark making, and developing emotion and expression in oil painting.
- The instructor will share and discuss core artistic principles – both theoretical and practical, as tools to gain a greater understanding of portrait and figure painting, helping you develop your own practice and artistic style in a way that is true to you.
