Exploring Pottery on the Wheel - Reid Nicholls

This class meets twice a week, Monday and Wednesday, for 3 weeks.

This 3-week, 6-class beginner wheel course offers a supportive and approachable introduction to throwing on the pottery wheel.

Students will learn the fundamentals of working with clay, including:

• Centering
• Opening
• Pulling walls
• Shaping simple forms

Students will also become familiar with:

• Basic tools
• Studio practices

Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and one-on-one instruction, students will build confidence and comfort at the wheel at their own pace.

The class emphasizes learning through:

• Practice
• Exploration

This course provides a solid foundation for continued study in:

• Wheel throwing
• Other ceramics courses

Supplies

• There is a $50 fee included in the tuition for materials

Materials include:

• One bag of clay
• Tools
• Glazes
• Use of wheel and kiln
• Additional studio materials
