This course is for:
- The beginner who is new to oil paint as a medium
- The experienced painter who would like to brush up on skills or explore different techniques
Students will learn:
- The fundamentals of oil painting
- Oil painting vocabulary
- How to organize a palette
- How to mix colors
- Blending techniques
- How to use painting mediums
The class will focus on painting techniques, including:

- Linseed Oil
- Or medium such as:
- Galkyd

Cleaning Materials
- Rags
- Good quality paper towels, blue automotive towels preferred

- Enamel palette

- Stay wet palette
Palette Knife
- Small trowel shape preferred for mixing on palette

- Filberts
- A small round or angled brush is useful for details
Recommended Brush Types
- Sable essence
- Natural bristle
- Synthetic
- Mixed brushes
Solvent
- Odor-free solvent such as:
- Gamsol
- Turpenoid
- Jar with lid or other brush cleaning container for solvent

- Any size 8” x 10” or larger, based on personal preference

Rebecca earned Bachelor Degrees from University of Texas at Austin in both Fine Arts and Liberal Arts as well as a post-graduate certificate in Non-Profit Management. She has a Master of Liberal Arts from Tulane University.
