Exploring Alla Prima Oil Painting - Rebecca Madura


Working in oils, the focus of this course will be on alla prima painting techniques, completing a painting during each class session.
Students will learn about:
- Palette organization
- Color mixing
These techniques will encourage students to work quickly and decisively.
Each week will focus on a different subject while working from direct observation, using:
- Expressive brushstrokes
- Wet-on-wet blending
Students will work to capture the essence and complexity of the subject.

- Gamsol
- Turpenoid

Prerequisite
- Some painting experience in oils is recommended

Rebecca Madura
Rebecca earned Bachelor Degrees from University of Texas at Austin in both Fine Arts and Liberal Arts as well as a post-graduate certificate in Non-Profit Management. She has a Master of Liberal Arts from Tulane University.
