Digital Phtography for Beginners - Helen Reed

This course discusses the mechanics of image making in the digital format.

You will learn how to properly expose an image using:

• Aperture
• Shutter speed
• ISO

The course also covers the characteristics of these controls and how they translate visually.

Students will discuss and practice:

• The elements of composition as they pertain to photography
• How to create aesthetically pleasing images

You will also identify:

• Very basic editing functions found in simple editing programs
• Basic workflow practices
• File delivery methods

Class lectures and images will be available through Google Drive. A printed copy of most materials can be requested.

Note-taking is encouraged.
