

In this course, we will learn the language of portrait drawing by exploring structure, light, and process.
Students will work from live models and create several portrait drawings.
There will be extensive demonstrations, Q&A, and personal critiques to help students create successful portrait drawings.
Prerequisites: Beginning Drawing or equivalent

Jonathan's themes often reflect the strength of the human spirit in the face of adversity, perhaps best illustrated by his paintings of Hurricane Katrina that devastated his hometown of New Orleans. He believes not only in the power of art, but its ability to move people.
