

This six-week beginner wheel class offers a supportive and approachable introduction to throwing on the pottery wheel. Students will learn the fundamentals of working with clay, including centering, opening, pulling walls, and shaping simple forms, while becoming familiar with basic tools and studio practices.
Through demonstrations, guided exercises, and one-on-one instruction, students will build confidence and comfort at the wheel at their own pace.
The class emphasizes learning through practice and exploration, providing a solid foundation for continued study in wheel throwing and other ceramics courses.
Supplies: There is a $50 fee included in the tuition for materials which includes one bag of clay, tools, glazes, use of wheel and kiln, etc.

Reid Nicholls is a ceramic artist and sculptor whose body of work uses symbolic imagery paired with figurative elements to create abstract forms that are hand-built and wheel thrown.
